How to Connect Your iPhone to the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

You just got your new Jeep Wrangler, and now you need to connect it to your
phone. Uconnect is one of the best and most user-friendly systems on the market
and makes it easy to use your phone while keeping your hands on the wheel.
Follow these simple steps to connect your phone to the 2017 Jeep Wrangler
before you hit the road.

The Vehicle System

To get started, push the phone button on the Uconnect system, and say
"set up" at the prompt. You'll then say "device pairing,"
followed by "pair a device." Tell the system to continue until it
asks for a pin. Make up a four-digit PIN number that you will remember, and say
it when prompted. You will then have to tell the Uconnect system the type of
phone you have and assign your phone a priority number.

Set Priority
Numbers

The highest priority setting is No. 1, so if your phone is the primary phone
you'll use in the vehicle, assign it that number. If other family members will
use the vehicle and the Uconnect system, you can also pair their phones and
assign them lower priority numbers. This way the Jeep will recognize
every phone, and if the kids or other family members want to stream music
from their phones they can do it quickly and easily.

The Phone

Once you have the phone paired with the Uconnect
system, you'll need to also set up your phone. Go to Settings on your
phone, and select Bluetooth. Slide the Bluetooth button to ON, and select the
Uconnect system from the device list. Enter the PIN number you used to set
up the system, and then choose Pair.

What Does the
System Do

Depending on which version you have, the UConnect system in your Jeep will
control many of your phone's features. You can use it to answer calls, place a
call, and hang up the phone. You can also stream music from your phone through
the Jeep's speaker system so you can listen to your favorite music from your
playlist. The play and pause features also work through the vehicle, and you
can skip to the next or previous song.

Using Your Paired
Phone

Once you have your phone paired, learn the simple voice commands to use
it so you don't have to take your hands off the wheel. To make a call, just say
"call" and then the name of your contact. You can also say
"dial," followed by the number you want to call. Make sure to
pronounce the name exactly as it is in your phone book so the system will
recognize it, and if you have several numbers for the same person, you can
specify which number you want. Just say "call," then your contact, then
"work."
